Below are links to various photo galleries that I have organized in a fashion. For starters I broke them out into "put-ins" that I have accessed: Green Chimneys, Patterson, Wingdale, Old Doansburg Lane and Old Pawling Road. If you have any other recommended locations, please let me know. I have also broken them down further into which direction I traveled. I will be putting maps and directions to all of these for those of you who are not familiar with the locations.
Kayaking The Great Swamp

Going South from Green Chimneys
North FromOld Doansburg Lane
Photo Gallery of going South from Green Chimneys Green Chimneys is a really great place to access The Great Swamp. If the water is reasonably high you can travel north and south from this put-in. The Going South From Green Chimneys Photo Gallery is of, you guessed it, photos taken while traveling south from there.

Old Doansburg Lane is just south of Green Chimneys School and not far, as the crow flies, from the Green Chimneys put-in. I have only gone north from here, but you can go south until you hit the resevoir.

Going North from Patterson Put-In
Going from the Patterson Put-In North Photo Gallery Patterson put-in is located just south of the Patterson train station. there are directions and a map on the Patterson Going South and Going North Photo Gallery pages. If the water is high enough one can go north as well from thsi spot.
Wingdale Going South
Photo Gallery for Going From Wingdale Put-In South Wingdale going south is a really great place to access The Great Swamp if thee high water. If the water is reasonably high you can travel south and traverse many obsticals which are tedious in low water. The Going South From Wingdale Photo Gallery is of, you guessed it, photos taken while traveling south from there.
Spring
See the Great Swamp inth springtime. Spring, finally! This Photo Gallery is comprised of photos I have taken over the years during my Spring trips.
Autumn
The Great Swamp in the Autumn Autumn may be the most visually amazing time you will spend in the swamp. The turning colors, the angle of the afternoon sunlight and the usualy dead calm water is a combination that is spectacular. At times the water is so mirror-like that you feel you are floating on air. This Photo Gallery is comprised of photos I have taken over the years during my Autumn trips.

Going South from Patterson Put-In

Patterson put-in is located just south of the Patterson train station. there are directions and a map on the Patterson Going South and Going North Photo Gallery pages. If the water is high enough one can go north as well from thsi spot. Going South you can travel all the way to Green Chimneys and points South.

Old Pawling Road Put-In

Old Pawling Road, at the Rail Road Crossing, you can access the water going both north and south. It is just off of Route 22, about 2.5 miles north of Pawling Village center. It is a little tricky getting in but well worth it.

Wingdale Going North

Wingdale, just over the tracks past the train station, is a really great place to access The Great Swamp, especially in high water. If the water is reasonably high you can travel north and south from this put-in. The Going North From Wingdale Photo Gallery is of, you guessed it, photos taken while traveling north from there.

Summer
Please view the Summer Photo Gallery Summer is great in the swamp. All of the bug eating creatures do their jobs very well. so don't think buggy. This Photo Gallery is comprised of photos I have taken over the years during my Summer trips.
Winter
The Great Swamp in the Winter WWinter, for a kayaker, is a hit and miss opportunity.I will venture in occassionally to "test the waters" looking for an opportunity. While going over my photos I noted that the only month that I don't have dated photographs is December.
